What is pretrial detention?

Pre-trial detention is a way that a person can be held in jail without the ability to post a bond pre-trial. There’s a pre-trial detention statute where when certain criteria are met, the prosecution can ask the court to hold you in jail without the ability to post a bond. Also if you’re charged with a life felony or a capital felony, the state can move to have you held in jail with no bond if the proof is evident or the presumption is great of your guilt.
