What is a motion to revoke bond?

In some instances, the prosecution will file a motion to revoke a persons bond if the conditions of the bond have been violated. A common way that happens is if the person commits a new law violation, or if they violate some other condition of their release. If the court grants a motion to revoke bond, the person could be held with no bond, or in some cases, the court will revoke a person’s bond and then set a higher bond that the person must post.
